Description: Myth Busters class will explore different scientific ideas through trial and error.

Jewelry Making (7th - 12th)

Description: In this class, you will learn basic wire working techniques, stringing, bead weaving, and fiber working (i.e. macramé bracelets)

Biblical Manhood (7th -12th )

Prerequisites: Must be male (obviously)
Description: In our culture, true manhood has been lost. This class will explore what it means to be a Man of God. Students will also learn basic, practical, manly skills such as orienteering, knot tying and fire starting.

Prerequisites: Beginning reader/writer. Must be able to recognize and write alphabet.
Description: Journey through the Dr. Seuss books while practicing your reading, writing and thinking skills for the beginning and/or resistant writing student.

Puppets (4th -8th )

Prerequisites: None
Description: Come make your very own puppet and then perform in a puppet show during the Friends and Family Night on April, 27th. If you take this class, please plan on being at the Friends and Family Night for the production.

Supplies: If your student doesn’t like any of the material I have, they can bring their own to dress their puppet however they want.

Introduction to Photography (4th -12th )

Prerequisites: Students MUST have their own digital camera to use for this class.
Description: Students will learn basic camera operation as well as the fundamentals of picture taking. First priority is given to students who were NOT in Fall 2011 class.

Choir (4th -12th )
Teacher: Chris VanBuskirk
Prerequisites: Enjoy singing!
Description: Choir is for students who want to work hard, sincerely learn or continue learning to sing. Basic musical score training will be taught so the students will know what is happening in the music. Each student will be expected to work hard in class, studying their music, words and vocal part, whether it is a harmony or melody. Vocal sectionals will be rehearsed for parts. This class will be a hard working class that will stretch the student’s abilities and help them in performing quality music, yet at the same time, we will have a great time and some fun learning. Home rehearsal is also required! This class is graded!

Apologia Physical Science (7th -12th) FULL YEAR CLASS

IEW: Student Writing Intensive (5th -8th )

Prerequisites: A willingness to learn new strategies for writing and participation in class.
Description: Does your child hate writing? Come watch Andrew Pudewa’s DVD writing series with us. He makes writing look easy because he tells us exactly what to write by modeling strategies that work!

Mini-Drama(4th - 12th )

Description: Students will practice and perform in a theater production by performing, making costumes, props and make up.

Meet the Masters (4th - 8th )

Prerequisites: None
Description: Students will be introduced to the “masters” of art within the 6 given different mediums and then have the opportunity to create their own work. These are all new master of art different from 1st semester so students who took this class in Fall 2011 can take this too!

Faith Booking (7th -12th )

Description: Students will be making a beautiful book that walks them through their faith. They will be assigned Bible verses and asked to reflect on it, write about what it means to them and design a page for it.

Supplies: Bible, glue sticks, scissors, colored pencils, paper trimmer if you have one, pictures from home (Students MUST be willing to cut pictures down if necessary).
Homework: 1 hour a week possibly more depending upon the student
Drill Team (7th - 12th )

Prerequisites: None
Description: Drill team will be performing in the 4 Daffodil Parades on Saturday, April 14th. Each girl is required to have good endurance and to memorize and perfect the routine at home to represent HOPE Co-op throughout Pierce County.

Dodgeball & Stuff (7th - 12th )
